Glory Days

So I played softball in our reginal church tournament that started on Wednesday. I haven't played ball in over 8 years and wondered if I still had what it takes. I was pleasantly surprised with myself. I pitched which was the first surprise. I only walked one batter and I struck out several of the people (at least 2 of them guys) (He He He). I could have played another 3 hours and was sad when the game was over. (we lost)I was on this high for the rest of the night. We play again on Friday night and I am pumped about it. I have to get on a team next summer.

I did want to show off my battle scar. I was running from first to second. The ball was hit to the left center fielder. Being the aggressive runner that I like to be I rounded second and was headed to third before realizing that might not have been smart. I stopped half way between second and third when the third baseman caught the ball. I headed back to second and slide. Yeah I was safe. Bet they never expected a girl to slide. Check out the nice strawberry I got from it though.
I came home and put the kids to bed before doctoring on myself. After a shower and a lot of burning while in there I poured peroxide on it. Talk about wanting to cuss and scream all at the same time. I will never make Alyssa put peroxide on her scrapes again.
It was nice to know that I might not be 20 and in college anymore, but I still got it!!!!!!!!!!!!

This post is a little late but I love the pictures and wanted to share them. When we were in Alabama in May John turned 1. Alaina took some pictures for me that I could use for his one year pictures. Thanks Alaina, they turned out great. She also took some family pictures for us to. We haven't had a good family picture taken since before I was pregnant with John. I love these pictures. I especially love the Southern scenery we got to use.

Summer has been fun. We have been busy the last few months. My bother Aubrey and his family came out for a visit. We went to Temple Square and hicked Mount Timpanogoes. It is a mile and 1/2 up the mountain to get to the caves. the girls were troopers and didn't complain hardly at all. We got ice cream when we were done. I was glad we did this mid morning instead of afternoon. We would have never made it.
Grandmomma and Granddaddy Enslen came out for a visit. As you can tell the girls enjoyed time with their Grandmomma. Although I don't have any pictures of it John took a real liking to Grandaddy during this trip. They got to spend lots of time together. We were so glad to have them here for a week.
WE took advantage of our little pools on the really hot days.
John has to have a bath after almost every meal. As you can see from the pictures he enjoys wearing his food more than eating it. He also still loves finding places to climb into.
Jacob was nice enough to do the dishes for me but accidentally put dish soap instead of dishwasher soap in. We were very entertained when we came in and saw all the suds. WE all got a good laugh.
Alyssa just started the first grade today. She was very excited to have a few of her old friends in her new class. I think she will enjoy first grade. I am really sad she is gone all day. Adalyn is already bored, but will start preschool in September.
